Apple Foldable iPhone Tipped for Late 2026 Launch with Samsung Display Panels

Apple’s foldable iPhone is reportedly set for a late 2026 launch, with key components already in motion, including displays sourced from Samsung Display. According to trusted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple has moved one step closer to entering the foldable smartphone market.

Assembly partner Foxconn is expected to begin development in Q3 or early Q4 of 2025, with full-scale mass production anticipated in the second half of 2026. While many hardware components are still in development—including a specialized “liquidmetal hinge”—the display specifications have already been finalized.

Samsung will reportedly supply 7 to 8 million foldable panels, suggesting a bold move from Apple to address long-term market demand. Production estimates range from 15 to 20 million units, aiming to satisfy global demand over a 2-3 year cycle rather than just the launch year, due to the phone’s expected premium pricing.

With Apple’s foldable plans gaining traction, 2026 could mark a new chapter in the evolution of the iPhone.
