Samsung Galaxy S25 FE Leak Hints at No Chipset Upgrade from S24 FE
The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE leak has sparked disappointment among fans, as it suggests the device will feature the same Exynos 2400e chipset used in the Galaxy S24 FE. If true, this means the upcoming Fan Edition won’t offer any performance upgrade over its predecessor, a letdown for users hoping for a faster and more efficient processor.
Samsung traditionally unveils its Fan Edition models around October, and while we’re still months away, early leaks are already shaping expectations. According to a reliable source—who previously revealed Samsung’s rugged Galaxy X Cover7 Pro and Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro—the Galaxy S25 FE will retain the underclocked Deca-core Exynos 2400e, clocked at around 3.1GHz.
This chipset, although powerful and capable of delivering flagship-level performance, still lags behind the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (Snapdragon 8 Elite), which is featured in the standard Galaxy S25 series. The lack of a performance boost could make the S25 FE less appealing to tech enthusiasts and power users.
Adding weight to this leak is a separate report on the Galaxy Z Flip FE (possibly Flip 7 FE), which is also rumored to use the same Exynos 2400e chip. If accurate, it seems Samsung is aligning its entire Fan Edition lineup this year with similar performance benchmarks, likely to keep costs under control.
Historically, Samsung hasn’t made major upgrades in other areas like camera, battery, or display in its FE models year-over-year. The Galaxy S24 FE already includes solid specs like a 6.4-inch AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support, a 4700mAh battery with 25W wired and 15W wireless charging, and a triple rear camera setup (50MP main, 8MP telephoto, and 12MP ultrawide).
If the Galaxy S25 FE repeats these specifications while sticking to the same chipset, users can still expect reliable flagship-level performance. However, a lack of innovation in core hardware could affect the model’s appeal, especially as competition heats up in the mid-premium smartphone market.
As with all leaks, this information should be taken with a grain of salt until Samsung makes an official announcement. But if the reports hold true, the Galaxy S25 FE may struggle to excite fans looking for meaningful performance enhancements.
