Honor Magic V5 to Launch Soon with Massive 6,000mAh Battery Upgrade

Honor is preparing to launch its next-generation foldable phone — the Honor Magic V5 — and this time, it’s getting a major battery boost. According to regulatory listings from MIIT and 3C, the upcoming foldable will feature a powerful 6,000mAh battery, significantly larger than its predecessor, the Magic V3.

The dual-cell battery system includes a 2,070mAh cell and a 3,880mAh cell, totaling a rated capacity of 5,950mAh, which will likely be marketed as 6,000mAh for typical usage. This represents a big step up in battery life, making the Magic V5 a compelling choice for heavy users and foldable phone enthusiasts alike.

The new foldable, model number MBH-AN10, will continue to support 66W wired fast charging, ensuring that the massive battery can still charge quickly and efficiently — just like previous models in the Magic V series.

Interestingly, Honor appears to be skipping the “Magic V4″ name, likely due to cultural superstitions around the number 4, which is often associated with bad luck in Chinese tradition. Instead, the brand is moving straight to the Magic V5 — a move that aligns with naming strategies used by several other Chinese manufacturers.

Both the Magic V2 and Magic V3 were officially launched in July and later showcased globally at IFA Berlin. If Honor sticks to its usual timeline, we can expect the Magic V5 to follow a similar pattern. However, some industry insiders suggest we might see an earlier release this year.

With a massive battery, reliable charging capabilities, and a strategic naming decision, the Honor Magic V5 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated foldables of 2025.
