Honor has unveiled its latest addition to the Magic V lineup, the Magic Vs2, as a successor to last year’s Magic Vs. This new foldable device boasts a lighter body, an updated magnesium alloy frame, and a Luban titanium hinge, resulting in a remarkable weight of just 229 grams. The Magic Vs2 is even thinner at 10.7mm when folded and a mere 5.1mm when unfolded, making it one of the slimmest foldable phones in the market. It features a 6.43-inch LTPO OLED cover screen with impressive specifications, including a 1,060 x 2,376 pixel resolution, a 1-120Hz refresh rate, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. Honor claims that the cover panel can achieve a brightness of up to 2,500 nits.
The interior screen is 7.9 inches in size and also employs LTPO OLED technology with a 1-120Hz refresh rate and a 9.8:9 aspect ratio. Both screens support HDR 10+ and incorporate 16MP front-facing cameras within punch-hole cutouts. The Magic Vs2 additionally supports stylus input on both the external and internal displays.
Under the hood, Honor has equipped the Magic Vs2 with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, accompanied by 12/16GB of RAM and 256/512GB of storage. The device features an updated camera system, with a 50MP primary shooter, a 20MP telephoto module offering 2.5x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultrawide lens.
On the software front, the Magic Vs2 runs on MagicOS 7.2, based on Android 13. This OS offers several enhancements tailored for the larger screen, such as split-screen multitasking, the ability to open two instances of the same app side by side, and a Free Hoover mode, which splits the screen into two halves for a laptop-like experience on supported apps. The device is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery and supports 66W wired fast charging.
The Magic Vs2 comes in three elegant colors: Velvet Black, Glacier Blue, and Coral Purple. Pricing starts at CNY 6,999 ($958) for the 12/256GB model and goes up to CNY 7,699 ($1,054) for the 16/512GB variant. Pre-orders for the Magic Vs2 are now available in China through Honor’s official website, with open sales scheduled to begin on October 17.
