Oppo has officially introduced its budget-friendly smartphone, the Oppo A2x, following a teaser that garnered attention last week. Priced at an equivalent of just $150, this handset boasts an impressive set of features for its price point. One of its standout components is the inclusion of the Dimensity 6020 chipset, which ensures reliable performance.

The Oppo A2x sports a 6.56-inch LCD screen, a familiar choice for the brand’s A series, featuring HD+ resolution, a 90 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 720 nits, ensuring a vibrant visual experience. The waterdrop notch accommodates a 5 MP selfie camera, while the back of the phone houses a single 13 MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture and an LED flash.

Under the hood, the A2x offers two RAM configurations: 6 GB and 8 GB, both utilizing LPDDR4X technology, paired with 128 GB and 256 GB of storage, respectively. If you need extra storage, a convenient microSD slot is available. Additionally, the right side of the device serves as a power key, doubling as a fingerprint scanner.

In terms of endurance, the Oppo A2x is equipped with a substantial 5,000 mAh battery, although specific charging speeds remain undisclosed, potentially indicating a standard charging rate. The phone supports two nano SIM cards, running Android 13 with ColorOS 13.1 layered on top. Notable features include a 3.5 mm audio jack and an IP54 water and dust-resistant body, adding durability to the mix.

The Oppo A2x caters to various style preferences with color options in Black, Yellow, and Purple. The latter two colors boast a unique textured finish. As for pricing, the 6/128 GB model is available at CNY1,099 ($150/€142), while the 8/256 GB variant is priced at CNY1,399 ($190/€180). Currently, the device is exclusively available in China, with no immediate plans for international distribution.

In summary, the Oppo A2x combines a cost-effective price point with key features, such as the Dimensity 6020 chipset and a sizable battery, making it a compelling option for budget-conscious consumers. While it may not be available globally yet, it certainly piques interest in the affordable smartphone market.
