Vivo S18 Series Set to Unveil on December 14: Key Exec Reveals Exciting Details

In a much-anticipated move, Vivo is gearing up to unveil its latest S18 series on December 14, as confirmed by Jia Jingdong, the VP and GM of Brand and Product Strategy at vivo. The announcement comes hot on the heels of a previous tease, with the official reveal set to happen just 10 days from today.

The upcoming lineup promises to cater to a diverse audience with three variants: the budget-friendly S18e, the standard S18 featuring dual cameras, and the highly anticipated S18 Pro boasting top-notch specifications. Jingdong spilled the beans on the Pro variant, disclosing that it will be powered by the Dimensity 9200+ chipset and sport a remarkable 50 MP camera equipped with a Sony IMX920 sensor, akin to the cutting-edge X100 smartphone.

On the other hand, the standard vivo S18 will be equipped with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, confirming earlier speculations. The Pro model will not only borrow the impressive 50 MP ultra-wide camera from the X100 lineup but also incorporate a 12 MP telephoto camera with a 2x optical zoom lens—a feature reminiscent of the vivo X90s.

Jingdong further shared some captivating camera samples captured with the vivo S18, giving a sneak peek into the imaging prowess of the upcoming smartphones. Despite potential artifacts from social media posting, the samples hint at a camera setup that promises to elevate the mobile photography experience.

The flagship vivo S18 Pro is anticipated to feature a 120 Hz screen, a slender body housing a robust 5,000 mAh battery, and an in-house generative AI named BlueLM. With just under two weeks left until the official launch, enthusiasts can look forward to more revelations about the series.
