Vivo has launched its latest smartphone, the Y36, with its initial release taking place in Indonesia. The Vivo Y36 is designed to succeed the Y35, which was introduced in August last year. Interestingly, vivo has announced two variants of the Y36: one supporting 4G connectivity and another supporting 5G. However, at the moment, only the 4G variant has been listed on the official website for Indonesia.

The primary differences between the two variants lie in the chipset used and the available color options. The 4G model is equipped with the Snapdragon 680 chipset and is offered in Glitter Aqua and Meteor Black colorways. On the other hand, the 5G version features MediaTek’s Dimensity 6020 chipset and is available in Crystal Green and Mystic Black. Other than these distinctions, the specifications remain the same.

Both the 4G and 5G Y36 models feature a 6.64-inch “Ultra O” LCD display with a resolution of 1080×2388 pixels. The devices are equipped with a 50 MP primary camera accompanied by a 2 MP depth sensor, along with a 16 MP front-facing camera for selfies. They boast 8GB of RAM, 256GB of expandable storage, and are powered by a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 44W wired charging. The smartphones run on Android 13 with vivo’s Funtouch OS 13 layered on top. In terms of dimensions, they measure 164.06 x 76.17 x 8.07 mm and weigh 202g.
The 4G variant of the Y36 is priced at IDR 3,399,000, approximately $226 or €211 based on current exchange rates. The pricing and availability details for the 5G version in Indonesia, as well as the launch plans for other markets, are yet to be disclosed.
